Muruddeniya Maha Vidyalaya is located in the Katugastota zone of the  Kandy district in  Central Province. It belongs to the Hatharaliyadda divisional secretariat and is located in the Muruddeniya rural.

Mr. W.M.B. Wedagedara has been the Principal of the school since 2012. Improving all the infrastructure facilities of the school and making a successful journey with the educational activities of the school.

The teaching staff and non-academic staff have received generous assistance to improve the school`s well –being year after year. The reputation of the region is moving slowly where I said Cp/Katu/Muruiddeniya Maha Viddyalaya is like a shining star bringing to the attention of everyone and gathering many great achievement  of the school.
